A music event held at a Bengaluru hospital has sparked a debate online, with social media users questioning the appropriateness of hosting such programmes at a healthcare facility.
Superhealth Bengaluru organised the event in collaboration with Localhost HQ. Videos from the event, which featured live music, surfaced on X and prompted contrasting reactions over the idea of bringing music and entertainment into a hospital. The rules stated that the music would begin after OPD hours and that event floors and clinical floors would remain separate. Patient areas were to remain private, with IPD access restricted and emergency routes kept open at all times. The organisers also prohibited alcohol, smoking and vaping. One user wrote, “Tbh, I understand the intention behind this and making hospitals feel less sterile can sound to be a meaningful idea. But turning an active hospital into a party space feels like a line worth questioning. Hospitals are also the places where people are dealing with serious illness, grief and emergencies and not everyone there has chosen to be part of this experience. There’s a difference between bringing music, art and community into healthcare spaces and making the hospital itself the venue for a Saturday night party. The concept is interesting, but I’m not sure this execution respects the context of the space. “I do hope this whole marketing dept at SuperHealth take the community feedback seriously and reflect. Nuts all of you thought this was a good idea.

The event, described as “HOSPITA/ITY”, was a music night on the non-clinical floors of the hospital, according to the house rules. The notice said that the programme was designed to keep the night “simple, thoughtful and very Superhealth”.
