Posters calling Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi “the real life Batman” were put up near the Congress’ Indira Bhawan headquarters and in parts of central Delhi by a party functionary.
Mr. Gandhi is known for wearing his trademark white T-shirt and cargo pants.
Tagging a post on the putting up of the posters, Congress’ media and publicity department head Pawan Khera said, “Not all heroes wear capes, some wear a white T-shirt.
Mr. Gandhi had answered, equally straight up, sidestepping any comparison to the caped crusader: “Let’s just say that no one has ever seen Batman and me in the same room together. And they did, the questions had poured in right through the session on Instagram. Some serious, others casual and witty. The posters feature Gandhi alongside the tagline – “The silent guardian, a watchful protector. LoP Rahul Gandhi, the real-life Batman.”
The posters, courtesy Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress chief Akshay Lakra, were put up near the entrance of Congress’ Indira Bhawan headquarters at Kotla Marg, outside the party’s 24 Akbar Road office and near the Indian Youth Congress office on Raisina Road in New Delhi.
“Ask me anything,” Mr. Gandhi had said in a fresh outreach to Gen Z.
