The Delhi Traffic Police on Friday announced restrictions on the movement of vehicles near the Red Fort, where the Independence Day celebrations will be held on August 15
The police advised people to remain updated through official Delhi Traffic Police advisories and real time updates. Entry on these routes will be allowed to vehicles with valid labels only. The traffic police further advised the commuters without valid parking labels to avoid the following roads: C-Hexagon, India Gate, Copernicus Marg, Mandi House – Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, BSZ Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, J L Nehru Marg, Ring Road between Nizamuddin Khatta and ISBT Kashmere Gate, Outer Ring Road via Salimgarh Bypass. Issuing a general advisory, the traffic police urged the citizens to plan their journey in advance and leave early, avoid restricted roads and use alternate routes wherever possible. The advisory also shared official links and helpline numbers of Delhi Traffic Police.
The police imposed traffic restrictions and announced diversions to regulate vehicular movement between 4 am and 10 am on Saturday, urging commuters to abide by the rules to ensure safe and smooth traffic movement. The Delhi traffic police imposed restrictions around Red Fort, closing several roads for general traffic between 4 am to 10 am on August 15.
