Montana tragedy: Law enforcement was summoned due to reports of “shots being fired” and a “child unconscious,” while fire units also hurried to a residence in Montana where a tragic incident resulted in the deaths of at least eight people, including several children, in a mass shooting and house fire, as per a 911 dispatch audio.
A fire engine is currently “staged in the area,” and shortly after 6:00 p.m., a request for “another engine” was made to the house in Billings, according to the dispatcher.
What was motive of the suspect?
The identity of the suspect is yet to be revealed by the police. However, names of some victims were revealed by two online fundraisers and some local media outlets. Information regarding the motive has not been disclosed at this time, nor has there been an explanation regarding the origin of the fire.
Upon the arrival of emergency services shortly after 6:10 p.m. on Sunday, they observed a man outside the house, which was already engulfed in smoke, before they heard additional gunshots as the structure was consumed by flames.
The suspect was discovered outside the home with a self-inflicted gunshot injuries, police said The suspect was then transported to the hospital, but he succumbed to injuries from self-inflicted gunshot wounds, as per NY Post. Authorities have requested that the public refrain from approaching the scene as investigators work to gather evidence, with an additional update anticipated on Wednesday.
