The Delhi Police on Saturday said they arrested 21-year-old right-wing content creator Swatantra Bhardwaj, accused of severely injuring 38-year-old Sanjay Azad during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi in June over alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The row erupted after Bhardwaj on Wednesday appeared on a podcast where he claimed that he had “cracked the skull” of Nishu’s father”. He also claimed that he did not go to jail and was let off because BJP leaders Kapil Mishra and Chirag Paswan were like his “elder brothers”. The Patiala House court sent Bhardwaj to one day of police custody on Saturday.

Read more here Demolition of a mosque inside the Saharanpur Collectorate complex in Uttar Pradesh began early Saturday, days after a District Judge’s court upheld an order declaring the structure illegal. JCB machines, dumpers and other demolition equipment had been brought into the Collectorate premises during the night. The administration began removing the mosque structure early Saturday morning amid tight security, with senior police and administrative officials present at the site. Read more here The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against Zee founder Subhash Chandra, other private individuals and companies in connection with an alleged fraud worth ₹ 1,322 crore involving LIC Housing Finance Limited (LICHFL). Chandra has been named as accused number 1 in the first information report (FIR) filed by the CBI on August 31 under charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal breach of trust. A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday convicted all 10 accused in the 2013 Jirham Valley Maoist attack that left 29 people, including some senior Congress leaders, dead. On May 25, 2013, Maoist ambushed a convoy of Congress leaders during the party’s Parivartan Rally in Jhiram valley under Darbha police station limits in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.
The map, known as the Equal Earth cartographic projection, is intended to improve “the accuracy of the cartographic representation of the world,” according to the resolution. Authorities sealed all five gates and deployed heavy security, including the Rapid Action Force (RAF), officials said. Saharanpur Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Abhishek Singh said the City Magistrate’s court had found the structure illegally built on government land. He said the Mosque Committee’s appeal was dismissed, paving the way for demolition.
