Two motorcycle-borne men fired three rounds at the office of a builder in Singhpura, Zirakpur, on Friday morning, days after the builder alleged that he had been receiving threats and demands for ₹ 5 crore.
“We received information about the firing at the builder’s office. We found that two persons had fired at the office. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the two men and establish the circumstances surrounding the firing. The motive behind the attack will also be examined in the investigation.
ASP Gazalpreet Singh said police received information about the firing around 11 am and reached the spot after a call was made to the 112 emergency service. The 112 team immediately reached the spot.
An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway,” he said.
Because of the threats and added that his children had also been threatened, dua said, he had hired personal security guards.
He said the project targeted in Friday’s attack was Rosario Elina in Singhpura. He had previously complained about the threats and had also approached the court, where the matter remains pending, according to Dua.
