Toronto Two pro-Khalistan separatists in Canada have received letters from law enforcement warning them of a potential threat to their lives.
Citing the letters from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the agency Canadian Press said they stated, “You may be putting yourself at risk if you spend time in any residence, vehicle or location frequented by those who engage in a criminal lifestyle.”
That trial is expected to begin in January 2027. In an interview with the outlet CBC News following the DOJ action, RCMP Deputy Commissioner Lisa Moreland did not respond to questions related to the charges levelled by Trudeau.
In July this year, Canadian law enforcement said there was no evidence to suggest Indian officials were linked in any manner to the slew of charges filed after “Operation Hard Ball”, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She said she would not respond to that particular matter as court proceedings in the case against four Indian nationals was ongoing. However, she said, “There is no evidence to suggest through this organised crime investigation and the charges and indictment laid forward, that Indian officials were charged or involved in this. Moreland said that India had cooperated in the “Operation Hard Ball” investigation.
