The Delhi Police has told the Delhi High Court that it will take “all possible measures” to control the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, over their call for a protest at Connaught Place on Friday.

The High Court recorded the police’s statement regarding the proposed protest. On X, Dipke appealed to people to join the demonstration under the slogan ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’, saying the march would show that waving the Tricolour is not a crime. He also urged those unable to travel to Delhi to organise similar marches in their cities. The call comes after CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were sent to five days of judicial custody and lodged in Tihar Jail following their arrest over an alleged breach of restrictions at Jantar Mantar.

This came after CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke called for a ‘Tiranga March’ at Central Park in Delhi’s Connaught Place on October 16, urging people to gather with the national flag at 5 pm.
