In the heart of the Himalayas, where the air thins and mountains touch the sky, where the terrain changes into a high-altitude desert that was once underwater, and where prayer flags flutter to create majestic views, lies Ladakh . There, in Leh, lie the Magnetic Hill, where nature creates an optical illusion so great that it tricks your mind into thinking that gravity does not work.
The hill offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, making it a popular spot for tourists and photographers alike. It draws visitors from far and wide to witness this unique phenomenon, making it a must-visit destination. The best time to visit Magnetic Hill is between May and September. Once you reach the hill, drive into the designated white-painted box on the road, shift your vehicle or motorcycle into neutral, and release the brakes to watch it appear to roll uphill.
It is about 27 to 30 kilometres west of Leh, and it takes approximately 45 to 50 minutes by car or bike.
