Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a candid moment at the BRICS Business Forum in New Delhi on Friday when a group of participants asked for a photo. The PM obliged, sparking a lighthearted interaction at the high-profile global event.

“Can we have a picture?” one of the delegates was heard asking as PM Modi was about to leave the BRICS Summit venue. “You are so lucky, all the ladies,” said the official who took the picture of the participants with PM Modi. PM Modi on Saturday welcomed several world leaders, including Russian President Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, to India for a two-day BRICS summit.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, WHO Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, New Development Bank (NDB) President Dilma Rousseff and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Chief Zou Jiayi are also attending the key summit.
The other leaders attending the summit in New Delhi are Iranian President Pezeshkian, South African President Ramaphosa, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, according to news agency PTI. Declaring the BRICS Summit 2026 open, Prime Minister Modi said India’s chairship is based on a “people-centric and humanity-first approach.”
