Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said security was the foundation of good governance and asserted that the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals had helped transform Uttar Pradesh’s image over the past nine years.
He was speaking at Lok Bhavan after unveiling the Uttar Pradesh Police song ‘Khaki Ka Sitara’. The police song features megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s voice, while singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan has provided vocals and music. The lyrics have been penned by writer and lyricist Alok Srivastava. The event was attended by senior government and police officials and members of the media. Shankar Mahadevan and Nana Patekar were also present on the occasion.
He particularly highlighted the police operation in Farrukhabad in which 22 children were trapped inside a perimeter surrounded by detonators.
Praising the force, Yogi said the children were safely rescued while the criminals involved were killed in an encounter.
