Organisers planning concerts and large-scale events at the upcoming Sarangpur facility will no longer have to approach multiple departments separately for permissions. The Chandigarh administration is preparing an online application system that will allow organisers to seek approvals through a single-window platform.
The move is aimed at simplifying the approval process for large events and reducing delays caused by coordination between multiple agencies, including the police, municipal corporation, fire department, estate office, engineering department and other regulatory bodies. The district administration already provides an online facility for different categories of event permissions, including concerts, exhibitions and large gatherings.
Officials said the single-window system would provide major relief to event organisers, who earlier had to coordinate separately with various departments for permissions related to security, traffic management, fire safety, electricity arrangements and venue use.
