Social activist Anna Hazare, admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after suffering a renal infection, is recovering and will remain under care for two more days, his close aide said on Thursday (September 3, 2026).
“Hazare was brought to Mumbai for renal infection treatment. He is recovering but not fully recovered. Mr. Hazare is taking proper meals as advised by the doctor. The anti-graft crusader was brought to Mumbai from his native Ralegan Siddhi village in Ahilyanagar district, where he had initially been admitted to a local medical facility for treatment.
The 89-year-old activist was admitted to Bombay Hospital in south Mumbai on Monday (August 31) night after his blood reports indicated a renal infection. On Wednesday (September 2), his associates were informed that he would remain admitted at Bombay Hospital for another two days under observation.
