Hyderabad, Students affiliated with ABVP and NSUI have clashed at the English and Foreign Languages University campus here, resulting in injuries to at least seven students and the registration of cases, police said on Sunday.
Based on the complaints and counter-complaints, cases were registered against members of both the student groups at Osmania University police station. The ABVP EFLU Unit demanded an impartial investigation into the entire incident and immediate and unconditional release of the seven ABVP members.
Four NSUI members who suffered “serious” head injuries were hospitalised. Seven members of the ABVP were arrested and sent to judicial custody, while seven belonging to NSUI, against whom a case was registered, were also arrested and granted station bail, police said. Police on Sunday said seven students four members from the NSUI and three from ABVP were injured in the clash.
