Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (September 11, 2026) gave a copy of the Russian translation of Thirukkural — the classical Tamil poem collection authored by legendary poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar — during his bilateral meeting with President Vladimir Putin ahead of the BRICS Summit.
The Modi-Putin talks at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi came a day ahead of the BRICS Summit, which is being hosted by India on September 12 and 13. The two leaders had met on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Kyrgyz Republic’s capital, Bishkek on August 31 where Prime Minister Modi had called for ending the war in Ukraine. Modi posted on X.
