New Delhi, Making her long-awaited return to the action genre with her upcoming film “Gandhari”, actor Taapsee Pannu hopes to finally satisfy her fans who have been eager to see her take on more action-oriented roles following the success of “Baby” and “Naam Shabana”.
Gandhari, directed by Devashish Makhija and written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, follows a mother driven by a fierce determination to protect her child. The film is set to premiere on Netflix on September 3.
The 39-year-old actor also noted that the films she typically works in do not always have the budgets for techniques such as face replacement or extensive green-screen sequences, meaning she often has to perform the action herself. However, the actor deliberately stayed away from the genre, citing the physical demands involved in performing action sequences. “First of all, I don’t enjoy hitting people physically. I generally don’t like hitting people. “My films generally don’t have the budget to have face replacement or the easy green-screen action. I have to do everything myself.
Pannu, who plays Bani in “Gandhari”, said audiences had been urging her for years to return to the action genre. Even though my image says otherwise.
