Chiranjeevi is one of Telugu cinema’s most prominent actors, with a career spanning several decades. Over the years, the actor has spoken about his journey, the challenges he faced early in his career and the qualities that helped him build a lasting place in the film industry. On his 71st birthday, let’s revisit one of Chiranjeevi’s messages on the importance of staying focused, working hard and persevering through challenges.
Speaking at the American Progressive Telugu Association’s (APTA) Global Business Conference , Katalyst, in Hyderabad on January 5, 2025, Chiranjeevi shared lessons from his own journey with budding entrepreneurs. Chiranjeevi, born Konidela Sivasankara Varaprasad on August 22, 1955, is an Indian actor, philanthropist and former politician known for his work in Telugu cinema . He has received several honours, including the Padma Bhushan in 2006, the Padma Vibhushan in 2024 and the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award at IFFI in 2022.
His advice to the next generation is therefore rooted in the lessons he says he learned along the way. Fondly called ‘Mega Star’, he has had a career spanning over four decades. He also served as a Rajya Sabha MP and Union Minister of State for Tourism.
He said, “If we stay focused on our goals, work hard and persevere, success will inevitably follow.” (Also read: Quote of the day by N R Narayana Murthy: ‘I believe that the most important asset of a nation is the brain and…’ ) The actor’s own journey, as he described it, involved discovering his passion for performance, developing discipline and navigating rejection before establishing himself in the film industry.
The actor also recalled facing rejection and negativity during the early stages of his career.
Rather than allowing those experiences to stop him, he said they became part of his journey and eventually led to new opportunities.
