No witness testimony will be presented on Friday, August 14, in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, a mother from Duxbury who is charged with the murder of her three young children in 2023.
She became paralyzed after jumping from a second-story window on the night the children were killed. Throughout the trial so far, jurors have listened to testimonies from Patrick Clancy, a CVS general manager, a hostess from Three V restaurant, the family’s nanny, friends, teachers, and numerous police officers, first responders, toxicologists, medical examiners, nurses, and doctors. On the morning of Thursday, August 13, Judge William Sullivan welcomed the jury and presented the agenda for the day. He announced that court would adjourn early on Thursday and would not reconvene on Friday, August 14. Additionally, the courtroom was presented with the 911 call made by Patrick Clancy in January 2023, which he placed upon discovering his children.
Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington , has maintained that she was overmedicated and did not possess criminal responsibility as a result of her mental illness, which encompassed postpartum depression and psychosis.
Sullivan advised jurors to take the opportunity to “relax the best you can” prior to their return to court on Monday, August 17, at 9 a.m.
