Mumbai, Harshvardhan Rane said an actor’s position in the film industry is tied to their box-office, and that it mirrors how a stock’s value fluctuates based on market sentiment.
Rane, whose 2016 romantic drama “Sanam Teri Kasam” gained renewed popularity after its theatrical re-release in 2025, said he does not take it personally when the industry overlooks him and instead sees it as motivation to work harder. “I value and respect the opportunities given to me and even if I’m not getting the opportunities, it adds to my determination to do some more work,” the actor told PTI in an interview. Rane started his career with the television show “Left Right Left” and later appeared in Telugu and Hindi films like “Thakita Thakita”, “Naa Ishtam”, “Haseen Dillruba”, and “Tara vs Bilal”, among others. But he tasted success in 2025 with the re-release of “Sanam Teri Kasam” and director Milap Zaveri’s “Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat”. He is thrilled about the opportunity to work with his mentor-actor John Abraham in “Force 3”, in which he will be seen as an antagonist, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s “Daya Nayak”. He has also completed work on Omung Kumar’s “Sailaab”, a romance-action movie. Reflecting on his association with Abraham, the actor recalled he had once delivered a helmet to the actor in 2004 and now finds himself sharing the screen with him in “Force 3”. “When people say that Chat GPT and Claude and all the AI apps are taking over, I challenge you, if you ask for the weirdest full story, they won’t be able to write something as wild as this,” he said. On working with Varma on “Daya Nayak”, the actor said the filmmaker constantly challenges him.
