Massachusetts authorities are searching for 22-year-old Ryan Hanafin after his 49-year-old mother, Andria Hanafin, was found shot dead inside her Reading home. Here is what we know about the case:
As per the DA, Ryan legally owns several guns and has a license to carry a firearm. She added that he has no known history of mental health issues. Their older son, Ryan, was not at home when police arrived, and his car was also gone. The first police investigation found that Andria was shot to death. The couple also has a daughter, who was away at college at the time.
Ryan Hanafin is a 22-year-old man from Reading, Massachusetts. As per CBS News, he is the older son of Andria Hanafin, 49, who was found dead in her home. The couple’s 13-year-old son was also in the house and was unharmed.
Authorities are now looking for him as a person of interest in her death, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan. He last saw his mother alive at around 5pm, according to investigators. Reading police suspended that license on Thursday morning.
“We have another child who’s at least a person of interest at this point. So this is, first and foremost, a terrible tragedy.”
She also spoke about the family, “We have two children now that have lost their mother,” Ryan said.
