The alleged driver, who fled the scene after dumping the injured boy by the roadside, was arrested on Thursday following public outrage and the surfacing of the CCTV footage of the incident. The victim, identified as Aadi, was riding his bicycle close to his home when the car rammed into him. The CCTV footage purportedly shows the boy getting trapped beneath the vehicle as it continued moving before finally coming to a halt. His father alleged that the incident may have been deliberate and raised the possibility of a conspiracy.

The incident occurred around 6 pm near Awas Vikas-1. A was registered under Sections 281 and 125(B) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further legal proceedings were underway. Aadi is the son of Sandeep Tiwari, a resident of Awas Vikas-1.

DCP (west) Qasim Abidi said Kalyanpur police had arrested one Diwakar in connection with the case. Police said they were investigating the allegation. The vehicle seized on Wednesday is registered in the name of Saurabh, a resident of Gadruali in Fatehpur, and a police team was sent there as part of the investigation.
