Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with Belgium’s Minister of Defence and Foreign Trade Theo Francken in New Delhi on Thursday (September 3, 2026).
The two sides reviewing the entire spectrum of defence and industrial cooperation between the two countries. The discussions also covered regional peace and security, with both sides acknowledging the growing importance of maritime security collaboration in the Indo-Pacific, it added. They reiterated that the India-Belgium partnership is founded on shared values of mutual trust and respect. The meeting took place on the sidelines of talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever in New Delhi, reflecting the growing engagement between the two countries across strategic, economic and defence sectors.
During the meeting, the two Ministers agreed to further strengthen bilateral ties through an expanded defence cooperation dialogue, high-level exchanges, training and capacity-building initiatives, according to the Ministry of Defence.
