Two days after the Ladakh LG allowed the withdrawal of an FIR against 25 persons accused of September 24 violence last year, the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) has welcomed the Ladakh outreach and has sought the same compassion for Kashmiri youth.
“We welcome any step that brings healing and reconciliation. The people of Ladakh are our people and their youth are our youth. Their happiness is ours and their sufferings are our sufferings. “If cases can be withdrawn in Ladakh as a gesture of reconciliation, the same approach should also be adopted for our youth in Kashmir.
We sincerely welcome any decision that gives them relief and a fresh beginning,” he said. They too deserve a second chance, a future free from the burden of old cases and an opportunity to move forward in life,” he said. AIP chief spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, while addressing a youth meeting at Gojwara in Shahr-e-Khaas Srinagar on Saturday, has welcomed the LG’s decision, while making an appeal to the government of India to extend the same gesture to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
