Sales Tax Assistant Commissioner arrested entangled in bribe case
The matter reached a Special CBI Court in Delhi, which has sought an Action Taken Report (ATR) from the Director General of Police (DGP) of Chhattisgarh and the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Taking note of the digital evidence submitted, the Special CBI court has sought a detailed ATR. Along with Bansal, who is posted as as a city superintendent of police, assistant sub-inspector Praveen Kumar Rathore and constable Anshul Sharma have been accused of demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹ 1 crore to cover up a cyber fraud case, according to a report by Live Hindustan . In another case, the Navi Mumbai Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a senior Sales Tax official for allegedly demanding ₹ 8 lakh bribe from a scrap trader to close a Goods and Services Tax (GST) inquiry, according to a PTI report.
