A Bengaluru-based CEO has reflected on the brutality of being laid off, citing the example of a friend who is worrying about how to manage EMIs and childcare costs after being terminated from his job. One person in the comments section revealed how they had begun saving aggressively, writing: “Being in Oracle for so many years, I have learnt a few lessons – no house buying, buy the smallest car if you need, no kids at all, no vacations and all, no buying luxurious stuff (e.g., just a basic phone that’s let’s you call, and use zepto and uber – that’s all).
