Work on the Modi Mill flyover extension and the Loni underpass was also launched. Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday inaugurated four major road infrastructure projects in Delhi worth ₹ 1,951 crore, including the long-delayed Barapullah Phase III elevated corridor and the Mukarba Chowk underpass.
The inauguration comes as the Delhi government seeks to accelerate road and transport infrastructure projects across the capital. Chief minister Rekha Gupta , PWD minister Parvesh Verma and other cabinet ministers were present at the event. “This flyover has been stuck for years, and our government got it done.
“We will do enough work in these five years that the previous governments have not done in the last 50 years. Verma said construction on the project had started 11 years ago and that it had remained pending for more than eight years. Because of the development undertaken by the government, bJP Delhi president and minister of state for road transport and highways, Harsh Malhotra, alleged that the opposition was raising complaints about infrastructure projects.
Gupta said the Delhi government would undertake development work during its five-year term that, according to her, previous governments had failed to complete over several decades.
