Actor and model Rohullah Mehdi, who worked alongside Shahid Kapoor in the 2025 film Deva , has been arrested by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case. Mehdi and his associate were arrested with 28 grams of drugs, according to a report by ANI.

Directed by Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under Roy Kapur Films, Deva starred Shahid Kapoor in the lead role, alongside Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati in pivotal roles. The film followed a violent police officer who undergoes a personality change after losing his memory in an accident. As he tries to piece together his past, he reinvestigates the murder of a fellow police officer. Deva received mixed reviews from critics and had an underwhelming run at the box office. Shahid Kapoor has had a mixed run at the box office in recent years. His recent releases, including Deva and O’Romeo, did not make a significant impact at the box office. However, the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
Maharashtra’s Kashimira police arrested the actor, according to ANI. As per an NDTV report, police said Rohullah Mehdi is originally from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir and had been living in Goregaon, Mumbai.
