Hayden Panettiere , best known for “Heroes” and “Nashville,” was found dead at 36 inside an Airbnb rental in Greenville, South Carolina , on Sunday, with a neighbor now sharing details of the chaotic hours after her death.
Cause of death and police statement
A resident of Judson Mill Lofts, the luxury apartment complex where Panettiere died, spoke to Page Six about the incident. The neighbor believed the unit was an Airbnb rental.
“I was shocked, as I’m sure everyone in Greenville was, to find out she was here,” the neighbor said. The neighbor also said police were at the scene from around noon to 8pm on Sunday and described seeing “the coroner vehicle” arrive, which is when they realized someone had died. “Then woke up this morning to hear that it was Hayden, which is just still shocking,” the neighbor said. Two men were also seen “sitting outside the apartment with cops,” who “looked like they were in shock, not speaking, and had their heads down,” according to the neighbor. Police said Panettiere was found “unresponsive” and a friend called 911 at 1:51pm, as per TMZ.
“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her and to the millions who watched her onscreen.
Panettiere’s father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed her death in a statement, “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” he said. He added, “We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”
