The Delhi government said the outlets were being shut to maintain: A practical reader guide

All liquor shops in Delhi will remain shut for the next two days, October 9 and 10, in view of the protest planned by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) seeking resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.

The Delhi government said the outlets were being shut to maintain “public order”.

Security has been stepped in Delhi with additional deployment of security forces ahead of CJP’s Jantar Mantar protest on October 10. Around 11,000 additional personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are being deployed in Delhi for the next few days ahead of CJP’s massive protest call HT reported earlier . With the additional deployment, the total number of central force personnel in Delhi will rise to around 26,000 – among the highest such deployments in the city since the 2020 northeast Delhi riots.
