Phillips, a Steelers , disappeared while visiting Cleveland for Thursday night’s game against the Browns . Officers, along with the Cleveland Fire Department, US Coast Guard and Cleveland EMS, subsequently recovered the body.

What Phoenix Phillips’ family said
She added, “When the body was initially recovered, the officers on the scene could not confirm the identity. Commander Callahan immediately responded after I called and personally viewed the body. The clothing matches what Phoenix was wearing when he was last seen. I have not yet received the official DNA confirmation, but in my heart, I am beginning to make peace with the possibility that this is Phoenix.”
However, we are still waiting for the DNA results, and until those results come back, there is no 100% confirmation. Because i know how many people are waiting and hurting alongside our family, i wanted all of you to know what I know,.
He told me that, based on what he saw, he is pretty certain that it is Phoenix.
The CCMEO assumed the investigation at the scene.
