The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Thursday (October 1, 2026) paid tribute to four personnel who were killed in an alleged fratricide incident at the Sewa-III Hydro Electric Project in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Tuesday (September 29, 2026).

They later succumbed to the injuries. The personnel were posted at the Sewa-III Hydro Electric Project at Mashka in Basohli area of Kathua when the incident occurred. A Head Constable of the 2009 batch had reportedly argued with his colleagues and allegedly opened fire with an AK-47, leaving four personnel injured.

The ceremony included a guard of honour and ceremonial salute in the presence of family members, relatives and colleagues.

Expressing condolences, the CISF said it stood firmly with the families of the deceased personnel during their time of grief. “The Force holds it a solemn duty to stand by the bereaved families, shares their sorrow as one family and assures them of all possible support and assistance, in accordance with the rules, in the days ahead,” the statement said.
