On Tuesday, September 1, a mother tried to self-harm after allegedly killing her 2-year-old son at a house on Frankfort’s Brook Stone Court in Will County. Police said that the mother was found by emergency officials trying to self-harm, according to NBC 5 Chicago . Frankfort police said that a 17-year-old girl called 911 for help initially, reporting the situation, CBS noted .
The police have described it as a “domestic-related homicide” and launched a homicide probe. “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy,” Frankfort police said. But the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services said to CBS News that they were never in contact with the family before Tuesday.
The incident happened around 4pm EDT on Tuesday when police responded to the residence.
