India has sent its fifth tranche of aid to flood-hit Nepal , including a 11-member rescue team and over five tonnes of essential medicine, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said on Wednesday (September 2, 2026).

So far, India has delivered over 68 tonnes of relief materials to Nepal. The first tranche of relief materials was sent by India hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Nepal PM Balendra Shah on August 26, 2026, the day flash floods struck the Himalayan nation.
“The fifth Indian aircraft has departed for Nepal. It has also sent a team of doctors and paramedics as well as a technical contingent along with equipment for search and rescue operations. Mr. Modi had assured Mr. Balendra Shah of all possible humanitarian assistance to deal with the situation.
