A young executive at Bank of America , who had recently marked her wedding anniversary, was tragically killed by a knife-wielding assailant in Times Square, as reported by The Post.
The assailant, who also injured an elderly man during the violent episode, was subsequently shot and killed by police. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch further stated that the assaults seemed to be random and unprovoked, noting that officers resorted to gunfire after the tasers did not prevent the woman from approaching them with the knives. Erin Piacenti, 32, from Chester, New Jersey , was fatally attacked near the Crossroads of the World on Monday afternoon. Pamela Cisneros, 49, brandished a pair of kitchen knives and attacked the first victim, a 68-year-old man, stabbing him in the abdomen after he left the subway on West 41st Street.
Piacenti was stabbed in the abdomen during an “unprovoked attack” close to 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue at approximately 4:30 p.m., as reported by NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch following the incident. Piacenti’s husband was also attacked in the incident and is expected to survive, according to reports. On Monday, during a press briefing, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani reported that a woman wielding several knives attacked two individuals in Times Square, prompting police to deploy a taser and discharge their firearms.
Following her death, the US banking giant issued a statement, saying: “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. She was a valued teammate who will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to her family and all of her loved ones,” as per CTV News.
