The district administration in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi and the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) team demolished the allegedly illegally constructed house of Naushad’s son Adil late on Tuesday evening as part of a continuing crackdown following the tragedy.
The basement and ground floor were used for commercial activities while the top two floors were used for residential purposes. “The 60 square metre house was constructed with a basement, a ground floor and two storeys.
As the site falls under PDA jurisdiction, the owner should have obtained map approval from the PDA which they had not, making the construction illegal,” said PDA zonal officer Gangesh Kumar.
The action began around 6.30 pm and continued for nearly two hours, officials said. A joint team of PDA and Chayal tehsil officials carried out the demolition at Mahmoodpur Manauri.
Officials said the administration was also identifying other allegedly illegally constructed houses and shops belonging to the factory owner and his family members for further action.
