An Indian man working in the US has shared his experience of receiving medical treatment in India and America , explaining why healthcare is one of the reasons he plans to move back to India.
He shared that after a few days, he received a diagnosis and treatment plan, with the total bill coming to around $500 (approximately ₹ 47,000). Recalling his experience in India, Yuvaan said that he had fainted multiple times a few years ago and was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was given a private room “right away with zero paperwork”. He said that doctors conducted several tests, including ECGs, MRIs, CT scans and blood work, and that he was able to speak to the doctor whenever he wanted. He then contrasted this with an incident in the US, where he said he developed severe chest pain while playing basketball. “I couldn’t call the ambulance because here it costs thousands of dollars,” he said, adding that he drove himself to the hospital while “writhing in pain”. “Whenever I asked to see the doctor, they just told me he’s too busy and will come at a later time,” he said.
