In the second road rage incident in the district in less than a fortnight, a PRTC bus driver allegedly attacked a couple with an iron rod after they questioned him for dangerously overtaking their car, leaving the woman with a fractured arm, in Zirakpur.

When the bus stopped at the Patiala Chowk traffic light, he got out of his car and questioned the driver about his driving. The latest incident took place near Patiala Chowk on August 21, when the couple was travelling from Chandigarh to Bathinda. The complainant, Paramjeet Singh, a resident of Sector 29, Chandigarh, said he was driving his Mahindra XUV300 with his wife in the passenger seat, when a PRTC bus, bearing registration number, PB11CZ8368 allegedly overtook their car from the left near Kalka Chowk and forced him towards the divider.

Paramjeet told the police that he noticed the bus driver talking on a mobile phone while driving.
