His legal notice states that those found spreading such content could face legal action and that damages of up to ₹ 100 crore may be sought. Bollywood actor and former MP Govinda has issued a legal warning against the circulation of what he describes as false, defamatory and unverified claims about his personal and family life. The warning comes amid heightened public interest in his relationship with wife Sunita Ahuja and recent speculation surrounding his equation with actor Komal Rani Swarnkar .

The notice refers to provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000. As per details shared by Govinda’s team, the actor may pursue civil and criminal remedies under laws relating to defamation, privacy violations, identity misuse and cybercrime. It also warns that further legal proceedings could include requests for court orders concerning the assets and financial accounts of those found responsible, along with other measures available under the law. Govinda’s personal life has been under intense public scrutiny in recent weeks. The actor was recently spotted at an airport with his rumoured girlfriend Komal Rani Swarnkar. Govinda later shared a video in which he asked Sunita to refrain from making statements he claimed could harm his reputation, career, and standing in the film industry.
