In a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said the statements of its leaders cannot be trusted adding that the opposition party changes its stance frequently.

Addressing the ‘Hindu Gaurav Diwas’ programme organised at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow to mark the fifth death anniversary of former UP chief minister Kalyan Singh, Yogi said: “Girgit ki tarah rang badalne wali party ke log PDA ko kaise paribhashit karte hain. It is an insult to every Hindu who believes that Kalyan Singh dedicated his life to Sanatan values and Hindu pride,” the CM said. Referring to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, Yogi said, “Kalyan Singh never worked under pressure. He often said ‘Kalyan Singh may break, but he cannot bend. During the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, he clearly said that struggle was acceptable, losing power was acceptable, but insulting Lord Shri Ram was not,” the CM added. The BJP government later established a new medical college in Auraiya in the name of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar,” the CM said.
