As Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial continues in Massachusetts, attention has turned to her ex-husband Patrick Clancy’s new wife, Dr Rachel Danis, a New York fertility specialist.
Prosecutors, however, say she carefully planned the killings and knew what she was doing. However, this has no basis as records show Danis didn’t cross paths with the Clancy family until Patrick moved to New York, and only started dating him in 2024, a year after the killings. Lindsay Clancy, a former Massachusetts nurse, is accused of strangling her three children, 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan at their Duxbury home in January 2023, before attempting to take her own life.
She does not deny killing the children, but her defense argues she was legally insane due to postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis .

A bizarre online theory has blamed Rachel Danis for the murder of Lindsay and Patrick Clancy’s children. The theory, shared by internet personality John DePetro, claims Danis was somehow responsible. Authorities have not backed this theory in any way.
Patrick moved from Massachusetts to Manhattan in May 2023, around four months after his children died. He and Dr Rachel Danis were together by February 2024, according to the New York Post. As per PEOPLE, Danis moved into Patrick’s Upper East Side apartment in 2025, after they had been together for about a year. The couple married in April 2026, several months before the trial.
“Lindsay Clancy: now blaming the new wife,” DePetro wrote on X.
