After the Heroes star’s death, there is renewed focus on how the brand allegedly suddenly cut ties with her back in 2016. Neutrogena is under fire after Hayden Panettiere’s claims that publicly discussing how she suffered from postpartum depression cost her a decade-long partnership with the skincare brand resurfaced after her death.
Panettiere had publicly spoken out about battling postpartum depression after Kaya was born, and how she had to relinquish full custody of her daughter to Klitschko amid her struggles with addiction and postpartum depression. Panettiere, 36, died on Sunday, August 16, in Greenville , South Carolina.
Police said that there were not “any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances,” per the BBC. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office revealed that crews treated a woman in “cardiac arrest” and her autopsy showed “no signs of trauma. She described the decision as a “living nightmare” and “heartbreaking.”
She added, “They caught absolutely everything and out of all the things they would fire me over, this is the last thing I thought they would ever fire me over. And even though she saved the day that year, I knew that that was going to be it,” she continued. Neutrogena is facing boycott calls on social media after Panettiere’s death.
“So when I got that call that Neutrogena wanted to fire me over that, my representative at the time said, ‘That’s illegal, you can’t do that.
