Prince Sahni, a Class 10 student, and Ranjeet Yadav, a Class 11 student, had allegedly scuffled with Karan Sahni.
Karan had gone to the market to buy vegetables when he was allegedly surrounded by a group of youths and assaulted with lathis and sticks, according to the police. Police said they are investigating the circumstances that led to the assault and are identifying those involved. Kaptanganj SHO Dhirendra Rai said the initial investigation suggested that the incident was linked to a dispute between two groups of students. The dispute began three days ago over drinking water from a hand pump at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, according to police.
The attack is believed to have been linked to an earlier dispute between two groups of students.
