Exams and results briefing: DUSU elections for 2026-27 session to be held on Sept 18

New Delhi: The elections for Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) office-bearers and members of the Central Council for the 2026–27 session will be held on September 18, DU announced on Thursday.

How events unfolded

The university has set September 10 as the deadline for submitting nomination papers to chief election officer Professor Raj Kishore Sharma, department of chemistry. Those contesting for the Central Council seats must submit them to their respective colleges or departments, DU stated.

What Happens Next

The final list of candidates will be published on September 11, and vote counting will take place on September 19, with results expected the same day. On August 5, DU vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh in his capacity as Patron of DUSU, appointed Professor Raj Kishore Sharma of the department of chemistry as the chief election officer, and Professor Rajesh Singh, the university librarian, as chief returning officer to oversee the 2026–27 elections. The university also appointed the principals of colleges and heads of institutions affiliated with DUSU as election officers to oversee the polling process for office-bearers and Central Council members in their respective colleges.
