New Delhi, Alleging irregularities in the Delhi government’s bicycle distribution scheme for Class 9 girl students, the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday said it would approach the Anti-Corruption Branch or the Central Bureau of Investigation if Chief Minister Rekha Gupta does not take action on the matter.

Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood on Tuesday told the Assembly that bicycles distributed under the Delhi government’s Vidya Vahini scheme were procured transparently through the GeM portal, dismissing A MLAs’ allegations as “noise” aimed at proving their loyalty to party leader Arvind Kejriwal. Drawing a parallel with Dhurandhar movie character Hamza Ali Mazari played by Ranveer Singh, the minister said, “All these cycle, rice and medicines are their attempt to cover up their failures and to prove, like Hamza, before their leader that they are his men. A MLA Sanjeev Jha said the government should look into the allegations and take appropriate action. “If the matter is not addressed, the party would approach the Anti-Corruption Branch or the CBI and lodge a complaint,” he said. Bhardwaj said he was ready to provide all documents supporting the allegations and asked the government to verify them.
