Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of threatening hall and banquet owners in the Capital against renting out their spaces for his party activities.

“Many people were commenting on Instagram when Season 2 of ‘Jantar-Mantar’ will begin. I want to tell them that Season 2 of ‘Jantar-Mantar’ is going to start very soon,” he said. Dipke led the protest, which continued for 36 days and drew massive support, and the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union education minister.
It also came days after the CJP announced its national team, with Dipke named its national convener, as the outfit moved to build an organisational structure.
He said the organisers eventually reserved a venue but when they reached there, they were told that they could not be given the hall because of “pressure”. The developments came hours after Dipke announced an upcoming protest similar on the lines of the student protests in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar last month, which he termed ” Season 2 of Jantar Mantar “.

Speaking to reporters, Dipke said a meeting of CJP volunteers in Naraina was cancelled earlier in the day after the banquet hall where it was to be held revoked the booking at the last minute due to “pressure” from the ruling party.
