The film will be available in four languages, English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, giving fans across the country the chance to watch it in their preferred language. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film brings together characters from three different universes as they prepare to face a threat that could change everything. The screenplay has been written by longtime Marvel collaborator Stephen McFeely, with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz serving as producers.

Avengers: Doomsday will arrive in Indian theatres on December 17, a day before its release in the US.

Patrick Stewart first played Professor X in the 2000 film X-Men, a role that would become one of the most memorable of his career. The studio also confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday would be his final appearance in the role. The actor passed away at his home in Los Angeles. His diagnoses had not been made public before his death. He is survived by his wife, Sunny Ozell, and his two children, Daniel and Sophia. Marvel Studios paid tribute to Patrick following his death, remembering the actor for the warmth and depth he brought to Professor X. His take on the character was never about showing off his powers. Instead, he brought a sense of calm, warmth and authority to the mutant leader, whose belief in peaceful coexistence made him stand apart from the usual superhero mould.

His longtime spokesperson, Kelly Bush Novak, described his final days as “a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia”.

The tweet read, “Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from X-Men to Logan to Avengers: Doomsday,” the studio said. “He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman”.
